Holiday in Singapore certainly has been a great vacation for me since my pregnancy.
I learnt a lot of things while I'm in Singapore such as sign language and many of the important things that being a parent, should take note of, in raising a child.
One book I have read called "First time mom by Dr. Kevin Leman" has noted that in this society, a woman has always need to decide whether to work or not. This decision will determine exactly what kind of memories your little boy or girl will have fifty years from now.
Yes, previously I do not have a choice to quit my job but I fell in love with my daughter and I could not imagine missing a day of this wonderful gift of life. I realise that my baby is an awesome responsibility that Almighty God has given to me and I have to be responsible in taking care of her.
So I made a tough decision not to work. It is tough to finally tell my husband about it.
We know that the main person who benefits from all this sacrifices - my daughter - doesn't even realize of our sacrifices.
What about the bills?
Being a full time mommy is a full time job (although I get help from nanny) without getting paycheck each month like I used to. I realise now that we have only one income from my husband, which means that we have to spend even more careful and we have to save money for our child’s future. Yes, we as parents have decided that we are willing to let go some privileges, some expensive possessions due to my our sacrifices. (maybe I am being too stressful in thinking about this stuff??!!)
My husband even said sacrifices need to be made, "I guess we might as well kiss the new alphard good-bye and start looking for a minivan..............."
But we sure hope that the rewards will be far more lasting than dollar bills in our hand.
Now it has been two full months since I have decided not to work at all and concentrate on our Sasya.
I, as a first time mom, also realise there are endless things that I need to learn, learn and continue to learn from my mistakes that I certaintly will do in this journey of my life. Being a full time mom does not guarantee my child will become a good, obedient, not spoiled etc etc child.
I really love Sasya and I hope I could become a good parent (not a perfect one I know) but at least a good one and become a good role model to my beautiful baby. Of course with the help Sasya’s good daddy.
